The right-side column of the “Modify image appearance” group on the “Image Settings” dialog repeats the “Contrast,” “Brightness” and “Fill” features already available from the “Image Tools” dialog discussed in the print edition. However, the “Color attributes” and “B & W attributes” options on this dialog give you more precise control. For example, instead of selecting from a limited palette of “Contrast” options, you can enter a specific percentage of “Contrast,” such as 25, 32.3 or 91.9. The “Brightness” option works the same way. However, “Fill attributes” merely repeats the three options available from the “Image Tools” dialog: normal, transparent or white. The next option on the “Miscellaneous” dialog only has one setting: “Use page background.” This lets you turn on or off the use of the background page color as the background color for your image. If you don’t like how your image appears after adjusting its settings, and you don’t want to reverse individual settings, you can click the “Reset All” button to wipe out all your adjustments and return to the original image.
