Figure 1. You can change the order of images
by using the “Order” menu.

As discussed in the October/November 2005 issue of Law Office Computing, if you right click a graphic image in a Corel WordPerfect document, the image editing menu appears. One of the options in the first group of features is “Order.” If you select “Order,” four additional options appear: “To Front,” “To Back,” “Forward One” and “Back One” (see Figure 1). These options allow you to put images on top of each other on a page and move them forward or backward in viewing order.

For example, if you have two images that you want to appear together, but you want one to appear behind the other, select the image you want to appear in the background and select “To Back.” If you have more than two images, you can use “Back One” to place the image in the second position, with the first image being on top and the third being on the bottom. The selected image then is moved behind the other image. You also can reverse the process by selecting “To Front” (or “Forward One”).

After you get the images in the right viewing order, you can group them to move them around your page as one object rather than several. To do this, hold down the “Shift” key and select each image. Right click the selected images to display the image editing menu, then select “Group.”
