To insert a watermark into a WordPerfect document, select “Insert,” then “Watermark” to display the “Watermark” dialog. Click “Create.” The watermark editor will open. Editing a watermark is like editing a document: enter the text, graphics, tables or whatever you like into the editing window. For this example, to insert a graphic image, select “Insert,” “Graphic,” then “Clipart” to display the Scrapbook. Select the image you want to use. I selected “Draft” and clicked on “Insert.” If the “Draft” image isn’t in your Scrapbook, select “From File” instead of “Clipart,” and locate the “Watrm004.wpg” file on your hard drive. After you close the Scrapbook, the “Draft” image will appear in the watermark window, but instead of solid black, it will be shaded a light gray. This is so the image appears lighter behind your text. You can adjust the brightness of the image (i.e., how dark the gray shading appears) by right clicking the image, selecting “Image Tools,” then “Brightness” from the “Image Tools” floating menu. You then can select one of the “Brightness” options to make the image lighter or darker.
Click the “close” button to close the watermark editor window. When you are returned to your document, you should see the gray watermark behind your text (see Figure 2). Entire contents copyright © 2005 James Publishing, Inc. |
