IntelliSync for Palm Pilot 2.0

Lawyers are finding the Palm Pilot is a great tool for keeping information at hand. Most users also want to keep that information synched with the data in the personal information manager (PIM) on their desktop. A few PIMs come with integration for the Palm Pilot, but if you want every flavor, you need IntelliSync for the Palm Pilot from Puma Software. The company that created Intellilink, a great tool for exchanging information between PIMs, has created a tool for synching data between the Pilot and your favorite software.

Synching your data with Intelli-Sync is a breeze. Press the HotSync button on the Pilot and the process starts without further intervention. The Pilot checks for changes, prompts you to accept or decline the changes, and makes the changes. It also creates a log of the transfer. IntelliSync for Palm Pilot is simple to use. After doing the setup, you can basically forget about it.

A wide variety of formats are supported including GoldMine, Day-Timer Organizer, Lotus Organizer, NetManage Ecco Pro, Now Up-To-Date, MS Outlook, MS Schedule+, Sidekick and Symantec ACT! Other formats are being added, but you must sign up for Premier Support to get additional translators. This service is not cheap ($39.95) and should be less costly or free. Of course, most users stick with one PIM and if yours is supported, you do not need new translators.

Sure, you can use the software included with your PIM to move information from your Pilot to that one PIM. But with IntelliSync, you can move from the Pilot to several PIMs. This is an essential purchase if you own the Pilot.
