A NOTE FROM THE EDITOR
Orison Swett Marden, founder of Success Magazine, once wrote: "The greatest thing a man can do in this world is to make the most possible out of the stuff that has been given him. This is success."

Here at Law Office Computing, it is our continuous endeavor to make Marden’s words a reality. To do so, we have begun comprehensive improvements to this Web site in order to better serve the needs of the readers of Law Office Computing. And like all aspirations toward greatness, the work must always continue; the efforts to improve are never truly complete.

As part of these improvements, we have secured much of the material on our Web site. These secured sections include our repository of more than 300 invaluable product reviews and our substantive feature and analytical news articles. These premium materials are available only to subscribers of Law Office Computing and demonstrate our editorial team’s continued commitment to keeping our subscribers ahead of the technology curve. However, the Law Office Computing Web site isn’t a subscriber-only venue. Non-subscribers may access our events calendar, a bank of published macros available for download, a wealth of legal-related Web links, and materials and instructions for both subscribing and submitting materials for publication.

One of the site’s key features is the Product Locator. This tool will take subscribers to our nationally renowned product reviews with categories ranging from accounting, case management and time and billing to Internet tools, litigation support and security — and nearly everything in between for today’s modern law office. Independent legal professionals carefully prepare each review to assist the reader in making the best purchasing decision with regard to finances, practicality and ease of use, among other criterion. These reviews are not press releases or product announcements — they offer the good, the bad and the particularly unique benefits and flaws of each legal-related product. And every two months we add a new batch of hot product reviews to our online collection.

If you are looking for unbiased opinions to help you make a decision in your technology purchases, you need look no further than our "Product Locator!"

In addition, we offer a calendar of events covering trade shows throughout the United States, CLE courses and seminars, local and national meetings of legal technology professionals; feature articles that offer insider tips and tricks to make your technology investments work best for you, developments and trends in the industry; profiles and advice from those who have conquered the technological frontier; and a sneak-peak at each issue of Law Office Computing.

In each issue of Law Office Computing, our expert writers and columnists represent the best and brightest in the legal technology community. Need to find an expert legal technologist? Looking for a guest speaker who can offer authoritative presentations on complicated technology topics? Want to examine the wealth of expertise behind each issue of Law Office Computing? Then just click on our Experts link and take a look at the experience and hands-on value our authors have to offer.

We also offer the ease and convenience of communicating directly with the editors of Law Office Computing. Just click on our "Readers’ Forum" to share your thoughts on the magazine, developments in the industry or the successes and frustrations you have faced involving legal technology. All posts are considered for publication in the magazine. Published posts qualify the writer for the chance to win a $400 prize awarded annually in a random drawing.

As Marden and others like him have recognized, success is a matter of utilizing your available tools to their utmost. It is our intention to do so here. The only way we will know if we are succeeding in our efforts is to hear from you. So drop us an e-mail and let us know what you think of the changes. And of course, be sure to check out the next issue of Law Office Computing and the regular updates to this site!
